Juneteenth Holiday Observed - Center Closed

When

6/18/2027

West Valley Early Education Center will be closed Friday, June 18, 2027, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when news of emancipation reached enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Juneteenth provides an opportunity to recognize African American history, the end of slavery in the United States, and the continuing importance of freedom, equality, and full participation in American life. The Center will return to its regular schedule on Monday, June 21, 2027.
